Jaco began his career in scaffolding in 2005, when he started working at a Leading Hire/Sales and Scaffolding company in Knysna.

After initially being employed as a technician on power tools, he quickly worked his way up to a customer-facing position, assisting clients on the salesroom floor.

Within his first year, he was promoted to Receiving Manager, and shortly thereafter to the position of Sales & Hire Representative. He worked in this role for three years, during which time he completed numerous courses on Scaffolding and Formwork, Sales, Power Tools, Plant Equipment, and many more.

In 2010, Jaco was promoted to company Sales Manager, and in 2011, transferred to Cape Town to run the company’s office there, as Branch Manager.

In 2011, Jaco joined a top Scaffolding and Formwork company in Cape Town, specializing in the supply and installation of scaffolding, where he worked as Contracts Manager for over eleven years.

Here, Jaco completed various large and complex scaffolding projects in the Western Cape, working on high risk contracts such as Koeberg Power Station, Chevron, South African Breweries (SAB), as well as high-rise developments in the Cape Town CBD.

In mid-2022, Jaco joined the Alpine Scaffolding team, in the position of Contracts Manager.

As Contracts Manager at Alpine Scaffolding, Jaco focuses largely on:

• New business procurement.
• Building and managing client relationships.
• Analysing client specifications and requirements.
• Tendering for new contracts.
• Managing contracts to suit clients’ expectations.
• Reviewing and costing of completed contracts.
