In 2010, Juan started working in the Construction, Oil & Gas sector as a safety officer for a large contractor appointed at Sasol.

In 2013 he was employed by the largest scaffold company in Southern Africa as a Safety Manager, where he gained extensive scaffolding experience. In time, Juan became involved in the operations of the business, where his position evolved from Safety Manager to Technical Sales Rep, and ultimately to Western Cape Operational Manager, exposing him to very large industrial and construction projects.

Juan has secured many safety awards in his career, including placing in the top three for the NOSA Western Cape Region SHE Coordinator of the year 2018 Award, whilst working as a contractor at Astron Energy Refinery in Cape Town.

In 2022, Juan joined the Alpine team as Contracts Manager / H&S Manager in the company.

As Contracts Manager / H&S Manager at Alpine Scaffolding, Juan focuses largely on:

• New Business procurement.
• Building and managing client relationships.
• Managing Health and Safety compliances.
• Analysing client specifications and requirements.
• Managing contracts to suit clients’ expectations.
