After completing school in 2009, Hanru began his career in scaffolding, managing projects at Impala Platinum Mine, where he was responsible for ensuring on-site safety and operational efficiency.

He went on to spend four years with a civil construction company, developing his expertise in project coordination and construction management.

In 2016, seeking new opportunities, Hanru relocated to Cape Town and joined a leading scaffolding and formwork hire and sales company. Over six years, he built a strong reputation for his leadership, technical proficiency, and deep understanding of scaffolding and formwork systems.

In 2022, Hanru took on the role of Contracts Manager at a major contract scaffolding company in Cape Town, further honing his skills in the supply and installation of access scaffolding.

Notable projects Hanru has managed include SAB (South African Breweries) in Newlands, The River Club in Salt River for WBHO, and 5 Dock Road at the V&A Waterfront for GVK, among others.

In November 2025, Hanru joined the Alpine Scaffolding team as Contracts Manager.

In his role at Alpine, Hanru is responsible for:

• Procuring new business opportunities
• Building and maintaining client relationships
• Analysing client specifications and requirements
• Preparing and submitting tenders
• Managing projects to meet client expectations
• Reviewing and costing completed contracts
