Meet Peter Harper

JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR

Peter’s career and experience spans over twenty-five years in the scaffolding and formwork contracting, hire and sales industry and includes work on large scaffold projects at National Power Station shutdowns and in South African Ports. His next role saw him critical to the running of operations at a leading scaffolding company in Cape Town, culminating in his appointment to the role of Joint Managing Director. He has had extensive exposure to technically challenging commercial, industrial & residential scaffold projects and their respective cost, performance and profit structures, working on numerous construction projects with construction budgets of more than R4 billion.

As Joint-Managing Director of Alpine Scaffolding, Peter focuses largely on the following:

  • New business procurement and relationship development.
  • Business strategy planning and forecasting.
  • Interpretation of client specifications & design of technical scaffolds & pricing of negotiated contracts & tenders.
  • Implementation of successfully negotiated or tendered contracts and the successful delivery of these contracts, consistent with the client programme and in alignment with company profit expectations.
  • Reviewing and costing of completed contracts to determine performance and profitability.
  • Developing and implementing company policies relating to pricing, quality, service, health & safety and ethos.
  • On-site operations management.
